Mid Term Election

The 2017 mid term Board of Trustee elections are to be held at the end of November this year. Pinehill School will be looking for two parent representatives for a three year term.

We would like to encourage you as a member of our school community to consider standing in this election. Trustees are active leaders in the school and a balance of skills and experiences is needed on our board.  Information is available on the role of a trustee on the following website - http://www.trustee-election.co.nz/becoming-a-trustee/what-is-a-trustee

A nomination form and a notice calling for nominations will be posted to all eligible voters in the coming weeks.  You can nominate another person to stand as a candidate, or you can nominate yourself (make sure you sign both parts of the form). 

Further information will be available over the next few weeks. Please make sure that the office has your current address details as all nomination and voting papers will be posted to the home address we have on file. 

Board of Trustees

The school is governed by the Board of Trustees and consists of seven members: five elected parent representatives, one elected staff member and the Principal, the board may co-opt additional members.

The five parent trustees are elected by parents for a three-year term; we have two positions elected midterm and three positions at end of the term, to ensure continuity on the Board. Our current members are:

Trustees are responsible for the governance of our school. Their important role ensures that the needs of the children and their learning are paramount. Board meetings are open meetings and are held twice a term on a Wednesday in the Boardroom. Notification of each meeting is via the school newsletter and website. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Please contact the school office if you plan to attend a meeting.
